Take a look at Los Alamos from about 150 feet up. Martin’s 360-degree footage from the North Mesa tower shows the community, the surrounding landscape and some of the equipment behind LANet’s wireless connections. Drag the view around and see the network from a different perspective.
Fiber and wireless: different paths, working together
Fiber provides high-capacity connections, while wireless links can extend the network and provide an alternate connection where a suitable path is available. From up here, you can see why tower locations and clear paths across the landscape matter to a wireless network.
Redundancy means having another usable path when a connection is interrupted. A wireless backup at a customer’s home and alternate upstream connections in LANet’s network are separate layers. Each depends on working equipment, power and an available path; backup capacity and speeds may differ from normal fiber service.
For the current options and the difference between manual backup, automatic switching and emergency connectivity, read Fiber, wireless backup and emergency connectivity. This tower footage is a look behind the scenes, not a live status display for every backup route.

A bigger view: VR and the theater
We would also like to share this view through compatible VR playback and a theater presentation. We will confirm the supported format and any screening details before announcing availability.
The footage captures Martin’s tower visit; it does not represent a live view of network conditions. Explore LANet’s resources and updates, or call or text (505) 412-6282 with service questions.
